This Cooper’s hawk has been a frequent visitor to our garden since the fall, when this photo was taken. I was so lucky to get some great shots of the hawk in our birch tree while he was drying his feathers out. (Remember the rains we had in November?) It is not often these raptors pose so magnificently for you…and definitely not as long as this one did for me. I think I shot close 100 photos and I only stopped because I was getting chilly having run outdoors in my slippers and without my jacket. My camera battery was running low too!
