Description

An herbaceous perennial with an upright, clump-forming, growth ha Bright green leaves have three, finely toothed lobes. Flower buds are white and green, opening to a soft, but vibrant pink, nestled in a ruff of paper-like floral bracts coloured pink or white above and greenish white underneath. Flowering period is from late May through to early August.

Preference is for moist, fertile soil conditions but does well in almost any soil type as long as drainage is good. Very profuse bloomer. Good cut flower; great for bouquets. Best to remove seedheads before they drop to minimize seedlings. Good pest and disease resistance. Rabbits are said to ignore the plant; no mention found of possible damage by deer. Attracts bees and butterflies.
