Duchess of DirtThe garden is definitely winding down for the season but there is still no relief for the gardener just yet. Chores still abound even as fall advances.

Not to scare you off…but I have made a To-Do List of Monthly Chores for September and posted it under “Gardening Info & Tips” in the “In the Garden” menu bar selection. (Quick link here.)

I know you are likely starting to run out of steam now. Heck, those hoses have really become a royal pain in the “you-know-where”.

Personally, I cannot tell you how sick I am of bailing the kitchen sink at least three times a day and hauling the buckets of water out to the shrubbery. Thank goodness John is pretty good about hauling his share of buckets…mostly because he is so good at doing kitchen clean-up.

But honestly, even though there is still work to do in the garden, it is a lovely place to be at this time of year. The colours are really starting to come on and now the rains have started up again, the plants are definitely looking rather smart.

So, get out there and enjoy the fall garden. Winter will be here soon enough when you can sit back with your feet up.
