You might have known that spiders are the good guys in the garden for all the pests they catch in their webs and devour.
But did you know they may also be the smartest thing in your garden?
Harvard neurologists have discovered the brain of an average spider possesses a greater mental capacity than the brain of any one of the most brilliant scientists in the world.
According to the Harvard study, if the spider’s brain had a cognitive lobe, it would be more intelligent than Einstein!

We stand now where two roads diverge.
But unlike the roads in Robert Frost’s familiar poem, they are not equally fair.
The road we have long been traveling is deceptively easy, a smooth
superhighway on which we progress with great speed, but at its end lies disaster.
The other fork of the road — the one less traveled by — offers our last,
our only chance to reach a destination that assures the preservation of the earth.
~ Rachel Carson, Silent Spring

Carrying on the left-handed theme from yesterday’s blog post…
Did you know…of the world’s total population, 87% of the people are right-handed, 12% are left-handed and 1% are ambidextrous?
I happen to be a proud lefty and I also fall into the 1% category. As does my youngest son.
As much as I get frustrated about living in a world geared for right-handed people…it is wonderful knowing that because I am left-handed, I am always right!
