The fountain in my front garden has been buzzing with bees lately. There are upwards of almost two dozen at any one time. All of them are honey bees flying in for a drink of water. I suspect these bees belong to a neighbour who set up two hives in his garden earlier this year and I do not believe he has installed a water source for his bees. His loss is our gain as honey bees need a constant source of water to cool their hive and for other purposes. And since his bees must come to our garden for their water, they are likely noting we have a good supply of nectar for them with our abundance of flowers.
