Description

An herbaceous, clump-forming perennial with dark-green, heart-shaped leaves. Small, sky blue, forget-me-not-like flowers with white centers appear in early spring, held aloft on thin airy stems above the foliage.

This plant species will tolerate fairly dry soil but does not thrive well in full sun combined with hot, humid weather. In optimum conditions, the foliage remains attractive throughout the season. Plant increases at a reasonable rate by slowly spreading rhizomes with some self-seeding as well. Reasonably good pest and disease resistance. Reported to be deer and rabbit resistant. Slugs and snails may be a problem in moist conditions.
