Description
An evergreen perennial with an upright habit. Lanceolate leaves are a handsome burgundy-purple colour that change to purple-black in winter. Clusters of bright, greenish-yellow bracts appear in mid-spring through early summer.
Flowers on old wood, meaning last year’s growth. Prune plants back right after flowering. Self-sows. Good cut flower. Drought tolerant. Deer and rabbit resistant. Watch for powdery mildew.
