Description

An evergreen perennial with a clumping, slowly spreading habit. Purple-bronze leaves on short purple-red stems are broadly lance-shaped, wrinkled with crinkled margins. Pale pink flowers with a yellow eye appear singly in early spring atop slightly hairy, purple-red stalks.

This primula grows well in open to light shade where it is protected from hot afternoon sun. Prefers moist fertile soil, but tolerate sand or clay with regular watering. Slugs, snails and deer can be a problem.

Divide every three to four years to maintain good flowering and healthy plants.
